Welcome!

Lavender House is situated in historic Whitby town on Yorkshires Heritage coastline. A Victorian terraced town house; it has a traditional style that gives it a lovely relaxing cosy warm feel. But it is the 21st Century and Lavender House is more than just well equipped, it has everything that you need for its role of a modern holiday home. It even has Freesat from Sky and to keep in touch, Wi-Fi (wireless) Internet access for your laptop computer or smartphone (subject to normal availability). Plus a payphone for the less technical minded of us. Lavendar House gives you the best of both worlds and great value.

Versatile accommodation it is ideal for a larger family or two family groups or some other mixture of individuals as it has four bedrooms.  There are two double bed rooms, a bedroom with twin single beds and another single bed room, sleeping seven in total.

The well behaved pet is welcome. If you have more than one pet, please enquire first to see what we can do to help you. It has a lockable yard, so you can bring your bikes. We even have a snooker table in the dining room.

Near

Lavender House has shops and a pub within a few yards and is within easy walking distance of the bustling town centre.

The ‘old town’s market place, cobbled streets, wonderful odd shops and cafe’s are well worth a visit and can be taken in on the way to the “199 Steps” and Whitby’s famous Abbey.

Walk along the piers, doze on the beaches, visit the museums and learn about Captain Cook. Take a trip on a boat, go fishing and much, much more.

There are many attractions for the kids, the arcades, boating pool, crazy golf etc, and why not a visit to a 'Production' at the Whitby Spa.

Around

Whitby is great whatever pace of life you want and is in a wonderful position to explore the local countryside.

Robin Hood’s Bay, Runswick Bay and Staithes are true coast villages and are among other secret places you will find.

A bike route to Scarborough along the coast and the disused railway provides some great scenery. Dalby forest is for you if you want more challenging routes and maybe 'Go Ape' for the kids.

Walk on the North York's Moors and how about a trip on a steam train through “Heartbeat Country”. Made famous by the TV series, it even goes through “Aidensfield”, it's called Goathland really!
